Family Time

The holidays are upon us and this is the time to put everything else aside and think of family and friends. Thanksgiving is this week and families are coming together for the festivities. Children are coming home from college, siblings are coming home from all over near and far all to be with family and celebrate. It's a good feeling to be surrounded by family and loved ones. This is a time to be happy, but I don't feel the happiness this year because I can't be with all my children. There are circumstances that keep them away. But I will be thinking of them this holiday season and praying that they too will be safe this holiday and always. I would like to wish all of you reading this a very Happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

I have been extremely busy these past weeks and don't get on my blog as often as I would like. But I do try to take time and create something every week, whether it's a LO or a few papers. This is what keeps me going, my love for digi scrapping and all of my cyber friends. I have been given a couple of awards a while back and haven't had the time to share them, so I would like to take the time to do that now. The first award comes from my good friend and fellow digi scrapper Jazzieal. She sent me the Kreative Award. Now I am supposed to name 7 things I love and than pass it on to 7 people.

1. My children are number one. They are my lifeline and I love each of them for thier own personalities and gifts to life.
2. My DH for everything he does for me and being there for me and for especially being my rock.
3. My grandchildren. They are all so special each in thier own way. I love them all and each individually.
4. My Best Friend Laura for always being there for me, and for being my partner in crime. We have laughed, cried, learned, loved and so much more for the past 42 years. She is much more than a best friend, she is my other half.
5. My brother and sisters for putting up with me all these years!!
6. My cyber friends are ever so special to me--so supportive and caring, and they share a love for my 7th love--Digital Scrapbooking!! To all my cyber friends-thank you all for helping me learn new things, sharing your talents with me and others, thank you for all the support you are so willing to give when needed, and especially for all the laughs we have shared.

Now I must give this award to 7 more people---The thing is I would like to do what I have seen other award recipients do and that is to give this award and my Sweety Award from Renee
to everyone reading my blog. Because if it wasn't for my readers I wouldn't have a reason to blog and share my creations with. Everyone that comes and reads my blog and downloads my freebies and leave wonderful comments are also creative and a bunch of sweeties. Lots of them don't have blogs for me to pass the award onto, so I just want to say thank you and all of you deserve these awards as well. I would also like to share these with some of my dear digi friends who have encouraged me and helped me in so many ways traveling down my digi path. Special heartfelt thanks go to Michelle McCoy, Kim Broedelet, Jazzieal, Crops2dawn, Melanie, Fiona, Deanne, all my special friends at SBM and all my fellow CT members for Wolvsie, Kim, Deanne and Fiona. You ladies mean the world to me and thank you!!

Now I want to show you some new WA that Jazzieal has done.
These are soooo perfect for your Christmas pages and Christmas cards. You can find them exclusively at DSO . The first set of words "Christmas Words" is currently 25% off--so head on over to her store at DSO and pick them up. While you are there check out all the other wordart she has. There is something for everyone!!
And now I have some Lo's to show you. The first one is to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season. It is of our dear granddaughter.
We got this doll for her 2 years ago for Christmas to add to her collection, and she absolutely loves her. This Christmas she is a new mom with a real doll of her own. A beautiful new daughter Alexia. If you remember I did a page of Alexia earlier on my blog.
I used a new kit by Inspiredmommiedesigns called "I Believe in Santa" which can be found at Pretty Scrappy. I also used her WA from her new "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" pack. Other credits: Birthstone ornament by Kitten Scraps-a freebie on her blog, the raindrops are from LouCeeCreations and it is a freebie in her kit for Kimb's color challenge this month at DSO.
I would like to show you Kimb's new CU grab bag which you can find on sale exclusively at DSO. It is soooooo full of the cutest goodies. It's only $6.00 right now and you can't go wrong. If you have ever purchased one of her grab bags you know you get more than your money's worth. It's insane the amount of things you get in one of her grab bags, and this one is no different. I made the papers in this with some of the goodies in her bag. Just look at that adorable Penguin!!!

And here is the LO I did using her new grab bag. This is our dear grandson! I just loved the outfit he was wearing that Christmas, and hanging out with our dalmation in his little santa hat. This is just too cute. I made the papers and frame in this LO using some things from Kim's grab bag.
Now for the freebie!! I would love to share with you the paper and frame from my LO.

So if you would love to have it you can get it here. All I ask is that if you download it please leave me some love. I love reading your comments!!! Well that's it for today!!! Hope you all made it this far. Until next time have fun and stay safe!!

Thank you!!

I want to thank everyone who has been coming to my blog and leaving beautiful, encouraging comments. It means a lot to me to to read all the nice comments-and believe me I read them all. I know how busy everyone's life can get, and to take the time to leave a comment is very kind.

This last month time has passed so fast and I can't believe Thanksgiving is only about 2 weeks away, and than before you know it Christmas will be here!! I know that there has been a lot of talk lately regarding traditions during the holidays-and like a lot of others, I too am a traditionalist. For one, Thanksgiving just isn't Thanksgiving without Turkey and all the fixings! Now the fixings do vary from family to family, but Turkey is what everyone has in common, right!!?? I can't imagine Thanksgiving without turkey. Than as for the fixings, our family has mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, cauliflower/broccoli salad, a jello salad, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, corn and hot biscuits. For desserts we always have pumpkin pie, pumpkin bars and apple pie; we will sometimes throw in a chocolate french silk pie too. Christmas is a different story--many families have many different family traditions. We always have a ham for Christmas day and usually we will do a turkey breast or full turkey with it. But Christmas Eve dinner varies. We usually have a beef tenderloin and sometimes lobster. We used to have oyster stew with all the brothers and sisters and their families, but now that the family is so spread out from state to state we have abandoned the oyster stew. We do have a special New Years eve dinner with our children and grandchildren though. Every New Years Eve we get together and have fondue. The kids especially love this tradition. We fondue chicken, beef and pork with about 5 different sauces for dipping. We serve a lettuce salad, baked potatoe and garlic bread with it. We have about 5 different fondue pots and set up at two different tables to fit everyone. What makes it special is we turn off the lights and eat fondue by candlelight. It is soooo much fun, and because you have to cook each piece as you eat it dinner lasts a good 2 hours, and it's a special bonding time. I love to hear about the traditions that other families have too-so if you have a special tradition why not share it with us. I would love to hear about them.
Well this weekend I was working on some LO's and I would like to show you a couple. The first one for the pumpkin season. She really is the cutest pumpkin in the patch!!:)

I made this page using the goodies from the Fall Splendor blog train kit. The wordart used on this page is from Jazzieal's set "Thanksgiving Stamps" which can be found exclusively at DSO. Go check out Jazzy's other wordart sets too. She does some beautiful WA and if you are like me, you can never have enough WA.

This next one I did was for Christmas. I know that it is a little early to be doing Christmas LO's but that is my favorite holiday and I just had to put together a LO to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

I used a freebie kit from WaterLO Project called "Under the Tree" The WA is from Jazzy's WA set Christmas Glam Titles. Found exclusively at DSO (digital-obsession.org)

Well if you made it this far I want to thank you for reading my entire post. I have been given some special awards too--but they will have to wait till next time. I have kept you here long enough. hahahaha! Until next time please have fun and stay safe.:)

My First Color Challenge freebie!

It has been cold and rainy today. We even had some light snow flurries over the weekend. I really dread the thought of winter coming!!! I love a fresh new snow fall, and I love snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day--there's nothing more magical than snow on Christmas. But after that I can live without it!!! I hate the cold, snow and ice. Give me some place warm anytime. My DH is really suffering this year with his arthritis. This is the first year that he is dealing with the pains of arthritis during the cold winter months. He suffered some last year, but not like he is this year. It would be great to be able to go south for the winter--but that's really not an option at this time.

I have a message for my good friend Crops regarding traditions.. CROPS!! you want me to come get rid of the evil sisters???LMAO! I have to agree with you 100%-Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without turkey!! Clams don't cut it and neither does ribs!! Yo evil sisters of Crops-please wake up from that terrible nightmare you are having and get that turkey and dressing bought!! Nothing else will do ever!!!!LMAO!!

Guess what?? I took the plunge and made a mini kit for Kim's color challenge this month at DSO. I am having so much fun playing with the designing end of scrapping. I really have a problem with thinking that my stuff is good enough---there are soooooo many talented peeps out there designing gorgeous kits I could never measure up to them. But I love learning new things and just having fun, so while I'm having fun you get some new goodies to play with if you want. Plus I love giving freebies away. So here is the preview of what I made.
If you would love to have this mini part of the color challenge you can download it here. Now if you haven't already done so why not head over to DSO and check out Kim's color challenge and Jazz's photo op challenge and all the other wonderful challenges they have to offer.

Now I would like to show you a LO I did using Inspired Mommies new kit "Happy Fall'yall" which you can find at Pretty Scrappy.

Well it's time to say goodbye for today. It's late and I need to get ready for bed-so untill next time take care and be happy.:)
